World Trade Center (WTC) Mumbai and Maharashtra Postal Circle (DoP) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen trade facilitation, logistics, and global connectivity. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman – MVIRDC WTC Mumbai & President – All India Association of Industries (AIAI), and Ms. Suchita Joshi, Postmaster General, Navi Mumbai Region.
The partnership brings together India Post’s vast network and WTC Mumbai’s international reach to streamline logistics, enhance cross-border trade opportunities, and improve ease of doing business, particularly for MSMEs. By integrating postal services with trade promotion, this collaboration will create new export avenues and reinforce India’s position in global value chains.
Dr. Vijay Kalantri highlighted that WTC Mumbai will support awareness programs to showcase India Post’s connectivity and its role in logistics and trade facilitation. He added that such initiatives would benefit the business and industry community at large.
Dr. Sudhir J. Jakhere, IPoS, Assistant Postmaster General (Mails & BD), discussed India Post’s upcoming projects, including the International Business Centre in Mumbai, National Logistics Organization, and Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra. With a strong presence in over 70 countries and initiatives to reach even Maharashtra’s remotest regions, India Post is playing a pivotal role in exports, trade facilitation, and inclusive growth.
This collaboration is set to enhance India’s global trade outreach by combining institutional expertise to improve efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainable economic development.
