In June 2024, the independent aviation tracking website Cirium released a study that stated Saudia, the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has achieved the highest ranking among all airlines worldwide in terms of on-time performance. Based on the study, Saudia operated 16,133 flights to over 100 locations on four continents with an on-time arrival rate of 88.22% and an on-time departure rate of 88.73%. June is a month with a lot of travel because of the Hajj and summer travel seasons, so this accomplishment is very noteworthy.
The Honorable “This accomplishment is a realization of our strategic goals to enhance operational efficiency and quality through continuous improvements in flight scheduling and the implementation of the best digital solutions and systems for operations management,” stated Saudia Group Director General Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar. It takes a lot of work to maintain a high standard of on-time performance in the aviation business since there are a lot of operational obstacles to overcome, including bad weather, high temperatures, technical problems, and other airport-related concerns. I would like to thank everyone of the Saudia staff for their hard effort in preserving the operational quality of the national flag carrier.
Since last year, Saudia has continuously ranked in the top ten worldwide airlines for punctuality, indicating its dedication to offering the best levels of service and aviation safety. The largest Integrated Operation Control Center (IOCC) of its kind in the Middle East oversees its operations. It is part of an extensive system that encompasses all group firms and sectors. The center also makes use of the newest technologies available for airplane communications, which helps to guarantee seamless operations by keeping an eye on all takeoff and landing processes in real time at all domestic and international stations.
