Westside, a leading Indian fashion retailer under Trent Ltd., has introduced its Young New Game-changer (YNG) program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to celebrate and nurture the country’s next generation of fashion creators.
For the debut edition, Westside partnered with NIFT students, inviting them to reimagine two of its most-loved in-house brands — Bombay Paisley and ETA. The result: a bold, Gen Z-inspired capsule collection that launched under the YNG label.
The first look of YNG was unveiled at Westside’s Media Day on 11th September, which brought together press, creators, partners, and loyal customers. Alongside the YNG collections, the event also featured Westside’s seasonal fashion showcase, providing a glimpse into the brand’s evolving design direction.
Beyond collections, YNG provides a professional stage for young talent — including designers, stylists, models, influencers, photographers, videographers, and makeup artists — to showcase their creativity.
Shailina, COO, Westside, shared:
“As a lifestyle brand, Westside has always been committed to creating meaningful spaces where young voices can thrive. Through YNG, we gave emerging talent the opportunity to design for real brands, build strong portfolios, and gain valuable industry experience while being rewarded for their work. It was truly a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the entrepreneurial spirit of Gen Z.”
The YNG journey was also documented in a mini-series, “From Sketch to Store: The YNG Journey,” capturing the process from first sketches and fittings to the final reveal. The series opened with celebrated design duo Saaksha & Kinni, showcasing the energy, passion, and vision that shaped the inaugural YNG collections.
With YNG, Westside strengthens its role as a purpose-driven lifestyle brand, empowering young creatives and creating a launchpad where bold ideas transform into culture and careers.
