Victorinox Strengthens Swiss Watchmaking Focus in India

Victorinox is entering a decisive phase in India in 2026, repositioning its watch division from an accessory category to a credible force in Swiss horology. With a legacy of more than 140 years built on precision, preparedness and Swiss engineering, the brand now sharpens its focus on serious watchmaking, backed by deep manufacturing capability and technical innovation.

At the centre of this transformation is the Victorinox Watch Competence Centre in Delémont, Switzerland, a 17,800-square-metre facility in the Swiss Jura, widely regarded as the heartland of horology. Operational since 2016, the centre brings design, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly and testing under one roof. More than 200 Swiss specialists oversee the production process, ensuring end-to-end control over quality. Sustainability is also embedded into operations, with 2,750 square metres of solar panels generating around 500,000 kWh of clean energy annually.

Each Victorinox timepiece follows a meticulous development cycle that can extend up to two years, from concept and engineering to hand-finishing and rigorous testing that exceeds legal Swiss Made standards. The result is a portfolio defined by durability, precision and mechanical integrity, echoing the engineering ethos of the Swiss Army Knife™.

India Strategy and Leadership Focus

In India, Victorinox is foregrounding its horological credibility through the campaign “Spend Your Time Wisely”, signalling a strategic shift towards positioning its watches as the technical and emotional core of the brand. Under the leadership of Debraj Sengupta, Managing Director – Sales & Marketing, and Avirup Mukhopadhyay, Head of Marketing, the brand is pursuing long-term authority rather than trend-led positioning. The approach combines industry expertise, strong market understanding and a sharper focus on product-led storytelling.
