Ho Chi Minh City, 23 October 2024. Vietnam has quickly emerged as one of the major global producers of textiles in recent years, securing its third-place export ranking behind Bangladesh and China[1]. The nation’s booming textile industry, which has its roots in the craftsmanship of silk textiles and is now embracing a wide range of contemporary textile manufacturing, has enormous growth opportunities for both domestic and foreign enterprises. The Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) will return from February 26–28, 2025, with a renewed emphasis on promoting sustainability and digital transformation in an effort to capitalize on the potential in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

About 7,000 businesses and over three million individuals are employed in Vietnam’s textile and apparel industry, which uses 80% of its production capacity for exports and 20% for local consumption [2]. A stable political climate, skilled labor, and well-established logistics networks all contribute to progress. As Vietnam’s textile industry develops, a number of significant trends are shaping its future course, indicating a greater focus on sustainability and technical innovation. These developments are also creating new opportunities for buyers and exhibitors throughout the value chain at Vietnam’s extensive textile exhibition.

Major trends shaping Vietnam’s textile market reflected at VIATT.

While many international brands produce in Vietnam and have pledged to the “Fashion Industry Charter on Climate Action” to attain net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, more Vietnamese businesses are embracing eco-friendly materials including organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel.

VIATT 2025 will debut Econogy Hub, a specialized platform for creative, environmentally conscious suppliers and service providers to interact with like-minded visitors in order to further advance sustainable initiatives in the domestic and international textile sector. Other new Texpertise Econogy elements at the event will include Econogy Talks, the main category for eco-focused forums, seminars, and product presentations, and the Econogy Finder, an impartial verification tool to assist sustainable exhibitors in effectively communicating their green credentials.

The Vietnamese textile sector is adopting cutting-edge design and manufacturing technology in addition to sustainability. With the opening of the Innovation & Digital Solutions Zone at the exhibition, exhibitors will have a central location to display cutting-edge technologies like digital printing, AI-driven design, and 3D printing that allow manufacturers to increase productivity and tailor their goods to particular consumer needs.

The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) is organizing the India Pavilion, which will debut at VIATT 2025 along with the launch of two new product zones. The Japan and Taiwan Pavilions have also confirmed their return, with VIATT attendees recognizing the Japan Pavilion as a unique display in Southeast Asia’s textile fair scene. All things considered, the exhibition will have a wide variety of exhibitors from the clothing, home textile, and technical textile industries, many of whom will be demonstrating cutting-edge and environmentally friendly goods. Highlighted exhibitors in each sector include:
