For the avatars of the Meta group, Valentino, which in 2020 equipped the characters of Nintendo’s video game “Animal Crossing,” has created fresh styles. The California-based internet behemoth and the Roman luxury brand have struck a collaboration, and the latter will display its digital attire on the Meta Avatars Store. Valentino has followed in the footsteps of Balenciaga, Prada, and Thom Browne, who were the first to debut a collection of garments for Meta avatars on the online clothing marketplace last year.

The initial set of six men’s and women’s designs from Valentino were released on July 14 and will be accessible on all of the social media platforms controlled by the Mark Zuckerberg group, including Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and the company’s VR experiences. These six outfits’ labels did not include a price.

When Meta first opened its Avatars Store, it stated that the virtual designer clothing sold there will range in price from $2.99 to $8.99.

Two small dresses, a skintight jumpsuit, a suit jacket, a bomber jacket, a t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a pair of shorts make up Valentino’s inaugural Web 3.0 capsule collection. These pieces were all inspired by the brand’s most recent collections. It also contains outfits with the label’s capital V emblem prominently displayed. Other outfits feature Valentino’s fabled red and the vivid Pink PP colour, which has recently grown to be a favourite of creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. Some of the ensembles are completed with the ballerinas from Valentino Garavani Rockstud. Valentino has been experimenting with virtual fashion for the past two years by announcing a number of initiatives. In a virtual try-on trial project last year, the label collaborated with Wanna, an augmented reality business owned by Farfetch. Valentino established a relationship with UNXD in February, a website that specialises in digital culture and luxury, particularly NFTs. This partnership’s specifics have not yet been made public.
