UNIQLO Appoints Cate Blanchett as Global Ambassador

UNIQLO has named Cate Blanchett, the Academy Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe-winning actor, as its newest Global Brand Ambassador. Through this partnership, Blanchett will work with UNIQLO to advance its LifeWear philosophy, focused on timeless design, simplicity, accessibility, and meaningful contributions to society.

UNIQLO Founder and Chairman Tadashi Yanai praised Blanchett’s influence beyond cinema, highlighting her role as a mentor, advocate for humanitarian and environmental causes, and inspiration for women globally.

Blanchett shared her excitement about the collaboration, stating that she values UNIQLO’s mission of making life better through high-quality, enduring clothing. She emphasized her commitment to supporting the next generation, addressing the global displacement crisis, and advancing equity. She also expressed enthusiasm for working with designer Clare Waight Keller and fellow ambassador Roger Federer.

Renowned as one of the world’s most respected actors, Blanchett’s career spans acclaimed roles in Tár, Carol, The Aviator, Blue Jasmine, and Elizabeth, as well as award-winning theatre work. Beyond her artistry, she has shaped the industry as co-Artistic Director of Sydney Theatre Company and co-founder of Dirty Films, while also being celebrated as a global style icon.

Blanchett’s humanitarian work includes her role as UNHCR Global Goodwill Ambassador, member of the Earthshot Prize Council, and supporter of conservation and arts initiatives. UNIQLO believes her leadership and advocacy align seamlessly with its brand vision.
