Uniqlo and Tate Modern have joined forces once again to unveil a new lifewear collection through the graphic T-shirt brand UT, starting from January 19. The ‘Curated by Tate’ collection revolves around the theme ‘play is for everyone’ and features four vibrant artworks embodying the spirit of play.

This collaboration, dating back eight years to the opening of Tate Modern, has successfully connected millions through art and culture, promoting a shared belief in the accessibility of art and play for everyone. In 2021, the partnership expanded to introduce Uniqlo Tate Play, a free family program encouraging creative exploration of art for all ages. The Japanese retailer has now extended this Tate Play partnership until 2029.

The ‘Curated by Tate’ range includes pieces like ‘Draw Hope’ by Bob and Roberta Smith, radiating playfulness; ‘Boats’ by Nicholas Monro with striking red and blue lines; ‘Orange and Red on Pink’ by Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, celebrating life through color and vibrancy; and ‘Antennae with Red and Blue Dots’ by Alexander Calder, known for his moving sculptures.

This four-piece men’s and women’s collection is priced at £19.90 per item and can be found on the Uniqlo website. The collaboration not only brings art into fashion but also emphasizes the idea that play and creativity are for everyone, furthering the partnership’s legacy of connecting people through art and culture.
