Trident Group, one of India’s foremost textile and paper manufacturing conglomerates, commemorated Environment Week 2025 with impactful initiatives aligned to this year’s global theme — “Ending Plastic Pollution.” The week reflected the company’s deep-rooted commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
At the core of the celebrations was the Nirmal Narmada Abhiyaan, a large-scale river clean-up initiative at Berkheri Ghat in Budhni. With the active participation of over 300 Trident employees and volunteers, more than 15 tons of plastic waste were cleared from the riverbanks, making it a significant act of ecological restoration and public awareness.
Furthering its green vision, the Group initiated a tree plantation drive led by Shri Rajinder Gupta, Chairman Emeritus, and Mr. Abhishek Gupta, Chief – Strategic Marketing. This is part of Trident’s ambitious goal to plant 20,000 trees, reinforcing biodiversity and environmental resilience.
To encourage responsible consumer behavior, Trident distributed cotton fabric bags across local communities to reduce single-use plastic reliance. In parallel, school engagement programs around plastic pollution were conducted to instill environmental awareness in young minds.
The Group’s Environment Week activities are an extension of its longstanding efforts to integrate sustainability across all operations — from making paper from wheat straw, adopting circular textile practices, shifting to renewable energy, and striving toward zero-waste manufacturing.
As the celebrations wrapped up, Trident reaffirmed its belief that collective, consistent efforts can create meaningful change, setting the tone for a greener, more responsible future.
