Tom Cruise made a highly anticipated return to CinemaCon at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum, revealing the first exclusive look at Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning—the explosive final chapter of the legendary franchise that has defined action cinema for nearly 30 years.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film picks up after Dead Reckoning, with Ethan Hunt facing off against a dangerous AI force known as The Entity. Cruise took the stage to honor McQuarrie, recalling how he first brought him in secretly during Ghost Protocol. “He saved that film and helped put Skydance on the map,” Cruise noted. He went on to praise McQuarrie for helping deliver Top Gun: Maverick and two Mission: Impossible films amid unprecedented challenges.

Cruise presented McQuarrie with CinemaCon’s Director of the Year Award, while McQuarrie credited Cruise for believing in him when few did. “Tom, your trust pushed me beyond my limits,” McQuarrie said, thanking the team behind the franchise’s legacy, including past directors like Brian De Palma, John Woo, J.J. Abrams, and Brad Bird.

The unveiled trailer teased jaw-dropping stunts including Cruise crawling on a flying biplane and launching off an aircraft carrier, while Henry Czerny’s Kittridge warns, “To bring the world to the brink, we must confront him.” With nuclear threats, aerial stunts, and emotional depth, the finale sets the bar higher than ever.

Featuring a stellar cast—Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, and Angela Bassett—the film promises a grand farewell to Ethan Hunt’s legacy.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning hits theatres May 23, 2025, in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, in 4Dx and IMAX, bringing audiences a cinematic experience where fate, action, and loyalty collide.
