Sportswear giant Fila released a limited-edition trainer featuring a rainbow inspired design in June to commemorate ‘Pride Month’. The new look, which debuted on the company’s India e-commerce site, is intended to advocate a sense of community in the Indian market while celebrating Pride month.
According to a press release from the company, “Fila believes in honouring and supporting the LGBTQ+ community as June is Pride Month by launching a vibrant and inclusive sneaker that celebrates and encompasses love, equality, and acceptance.” The Pride-themed sneaker from FILA features vivid rainbow colours, representing inclusivity and unity.
The ‘Oakmont TR Pride Lace-Up Casual Shoe’ also seamlessly taps into the popular Y2K trend with its chunky design and bright, contemporary accents. The sole of the sneaker has rainbow-colored embellishments and black paint splatters. The sneaker has launched on the direct-to-consumer Fila website as well as the multi-brand e-commerce sites Ajio, Myntra, and Flipkart. It has also launched at brick-and-mortar shop chains Lifestyle and Shoppers Stop.
