Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 Adopts Kornit Presto MAX
Italian textile specialist advances digital, sustainable fabric production
Italian textile dyeing and finishing specialist Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 has integrated the Kornit Presto MAX into its production operations.
The investment will help the company expand its premium textile offering. It will also improve manufacturing efficiency and support demand for more sustainable and flexible fabric production.
Kornit Digital developed the Presto MAX for industrial roll-to-roll textile printing. The system combines pigment printing with a single-step process that removes the need for pre-treatment and post-treatment.
As a result, manufacturers can reduce water and energy consumption. They can also shorten production times while producing premium-quality fabrics on demand.
Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 Builds on Textile Heritage
Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 operates in Biella, one of Italy’s best-known textile manufacturing districts.
The family-owned company has worked with fabrics since 1972. Its expertise covers dyeing, finishing, printing and lamination.
Over the years, the company has combined technical expertise with creativity and investment in new technology. It serves luxury fashion brands, textile manufacturers and fabric converters looking to develop distinctive, high-value textiles.
Digital Technology Drives New Opportunities
For Tintoria Finissaggio 2000, digital transformation represents more than an equipment upgrade. The company sees technology as a way to expand what textile manufacturers can create.
“In Italy, we describe our work as ‘ennobling’ fabrics,” said Dino Masso, Owner and CEO of Tintoria Finissaggio 2000. “That means transforming a fabric into something better through technology, creativity and know-how. Every investment we make is about creating new opportunities for our customers, and Presto MAX represents the next evolution of that philosophy.”
After more than five decades of development, the company identified three key priorities for its latest investment.
First, it wanted to create innovative textile products. Second, it aimed to remove water from the printing process. Finally, it needed a production platform that could support customised designs and shorter production runs.
According to Masso, Kornit Presto MAX meets all three objectives.
“We were looking for a technology that would allow us to create something entirely new while dramatically improving sustainability,” Masso explained. “As a dye house, water consumption has always been a major consideration. Presto MAX gave us a truly water-free digital printing solution while also providing the flexibility to serve a market that increasingly demands customised, agile production.”
Presto MAX Advances Premium Pigment Printing
Pigment printing has traditionally faced challenges in premium textile applications. Manufacturers have often associated it with a stiffer hand feel, lower colour vibrancy and reduced durability compared with reactive or acid printing.
Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 worked with Kornit to develop fabrics that addressed these concerns. The resulting fabrics combine colour quality, softness and print definition while removing several traditional finishing stages.
“When we saw the first results, we were genuinely impressed,” Masso said. “The quality, the hand feel and the appearance exceeded our expectations. That was the moment we knew we had made the right investment.”
The production process also improves efficiency. Fabrics leave the printing stage fully finished, so they do not require washing, steaming or additional post-processing.
Therefore, Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 can reduce production time and respond more quickly to customer requirements.
Digital Printing Supports On-Demand Production
Presto MAX now forms part of Tintoria Finissaggio 2000’s manufacturing workflow.
The system allows the company to develop new products and explore markets that were previously difficult to serve. It also supports brands looking for more sustainable and demand-driven production models.
“We don’t see Presto MAX simply as a printing machine,” Masso concluded. “It’s a platform that changes the way we serve the market. As the textile industry moves toward producing only what is needed, technologies like this will be essential for building a faster, more sustainable and more flexible supply chain.”
The investment reflects Tintoria Finissaggio 2000’s continued focus on technology, efficiency and textile innovation. At the same time, it strengthens the company’s ability to serve luxury and premium textile markets with more agile production solutions.
