The Week’s Greatest Dressed Stars: Textures & Patterns

Patterns! Colors! Feel the texture! Using the red carpets as a platform to play with style, this week’s best dressed celebrities opted for eye-catching statement pieces. Hollywood celebrities, on the other hand, embraced the force of maximalist fashion. There was no subtle minimalism or quiet elegance here.

Jennifer Lawrence emulated mob wife style during the Dior show in Scotland, sporting flared pants and a leopard print coat. (Someone isn’t prepared to take off their winter coats quite yet.) Jodie Turner-Smith looked equally fierce in a multicolored Balmain dress while she was in New York City; the garment’s vivid design, which included flamingos, was both amusing and appropriate for a party. Is there another trend in action here? Olivia Cooke wore a vibrant red Chanel skirt suit with subdued floral embroidery at the lapels.

This week, sparkly sequins also made an intriguing impression. At the House of the Dragon premiere in New York City, Emma D’Arcy wore a black sequin-covered Celine menswear suit. Kerry Washington also donned a brown lace slip dress from the designer, accented with a brown sequin robe jacket, to a Michael Kors event in Los Angeles. (PJs, but stylish ones.)
