The warehouse-style retailer first opened its doors i 1976, many customers have discovered the surprising allure of Costco clothes. Pang is just one of them. Numerous people share advice and recommendations for shopping at Costco on social media. The hashtag #costcoclothes received over 4 million views on TikTok, largely as a result of films showing clothing hauls that are comparable to those from Zara or Aritzia. The search term “Costco clothing finds” has had close to 2 billion views. Pang started the Facebook group “Today At Costco,” which now has over 50,000 members.
The majority of sources contacted for this story said they visit the warehouse store in person because it is unlike shopping at any other retailer, despite the fact that Costco fans are active online. The clothes section is typically in the centre of the store and consists of dozens of tables with items stacked on top of one another. White-and-black placards with brand names like Nike, Adidas, and Eddie Bauer as well as the business’s own label, Kirkland, are placed atop the tables. Deals like Calvin Klein tights for $19.99 and Banana Republic shorts for $14.99 speak for themselves, creating a shopping experience free of the decor, overly curated merchandise, and crowds that are typical of malls and shops. Yet, the hottest fashion trends of the day are everywhere: I recently visited and noticed.
