In a recent Instagram post, the actress was seen holding her infant while dressed in an off-white ensemble that included loose, wide-leg trousers. She chose big, hefty gold earrings and a claw-clip hairdo to accessorise the entire ensemble, which she matched with a bright white sports bra and trainers. All the accoutrements mixed with the monochrome made the outfit look more put-together than the typical sweatpants-and-hoodie look that is prevalent on our social media and in public.
Like most trends that become widely popular, athleisure occasionally appears to have lost its casual roots: just last month, fans of TikTok’s “old money aesthetic” decided that Sofia Richie’s Gymshark leggings hold the secret to looking chic no matter the season. But when Claire McCardell and Bonnie Cashin created what we now refer to as athleisure, it was entertaining—much like George Michael’s absurdly bright shorts in the peak of Wham!—but most importantly, it was cosy. The oversized sweatpants and hoodie combination embodies the spirit of athleisure, and Chopra Jonas looks incredibly classic in this ensemble.
