The Global Fashion Agenda, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainability in the fashion industry, has introduced a new platform called the Global Textiles Policy Forum (GTPF). The GTPF’s primary objective is to facilitate collaboration among textile industry players and governments to establish an ambitious sustainability framework and global policy frameworks.

By bringing together various stakeholders, the GTPF aims to foster alignment on sustainable practices and encourage the adoption of responsible policies throughout the textile industry. The platform seeks to amplify the voices of supply chain actors, ensuring their perspectives and concerns are heard and addressed.

Furthermore, the GTPF aims to extend the impact of the EU Textiles Strategy beyond the European Union. The EU Textiles Strategy, a comprehensive plan for sustainable textiles, has garnered attention for its commitment to environmental and social responsibility. The GTPF intends to spread the positive influence of this strategy to the global textile industry, encouraging similar initiatives and promoting collaboration on a global scale.

The launch of the GTPF took place during The Global Fashion Summit, an event held in Copenhagen from June 27 to 28. The summit serves as a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates to come together and discuss key challenges and opportunities in the fashion industry.

Through the establishment of the Global Textiles Policy Forum, the Global Fashion Agenda aims to drive meaningful change in the textile industry by fostering collaboration, amplifying voices, and promoting sustainable practices. By uniting stakeholders and advocating for global policy frameworks, the GTPF aims to accelerate the industry’s transition towards a more sustainable and responsible future.
