The Danish Edit Brings Danish Fashion Together in Paris

Copenhagen Fashion Week, Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF), Dansk Fashion & Textile (DM&T) and Creative Denmark are joining forces for The Danish Edit, a special cocktail reception taking place during Paris Fashion Week SS27 on 1 October.

Hosted at Le Mary Celeste, the event will bring together Danish brands, international press, buyers and fashion industry stakeholders. The initiative aims to strengthen the international position of Danish fashion while helping more Danish brands develop their export potential.

The collaboration brings together four key organisations from the Danish fashion ecosystem. Their combined networks, expertise and resources are intended to create greater international visibility and new business opportunities for Danish brands.

“The strength of Danish fashion lies not only in the individual creativity of our brands, but in what we can achieve when the industry comes together. The Danish Edit is an expression of that collective ambition – uniting our networks, knowledge and resources to connect brands with key international buyers and press, and support them in realising their global potential”.
– Sofie Dolva, Director, CIFF

CIFF Expands Its Paris Presence

A central element of the initiative is CIFF’s continued presence in Paris. Following its inaugural CIFF Paris showroom during Men’s Fashion Week in June, the organisation plans to maintain a Paris presence twice a year.

The first showroom brought together around 20 Nordic and international brands, including Rains, OpéraSPORT, Tretorn and Woodbird, in a three-storey space in Le Marais. The programme also included industry gatherings, breakfasts, podcast recordings and networking sessions.

The upcoming edition will continue this approach, providing participating brands with a collective platform during an important period in the international fashion calendar. The showroom will also focus on connecting brands directly with buyers, press and industry professionals.

“There is such strength in coming together as an industry to champion Danish fashion internationally. Copenhagen will always be our home and our central meeting point, but it is vital that we also create opportunities to spotlight Danish brands beyond Copenhagen and bring their creativity, ambition and relevance to key international audiences. The Danish Edit is a good example of what we can achieve through collaboration.”
– Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO, Copenhagen Fashion Week

Focus on International Growth

The Danish Edit is designed to turn international exposure into longer-term commercial opportunities. By combining the networks and resources of the four organisations, the initiative will support Danish brands as they enter new markets and strengthen existing international relationships.

The collaboration also aims to create a stronger support structure for brands already operating internationally while helping other companies establish the connections needed for international expansion.

“The Danish fashion industry is already well established on the export markets, but we need to maintain this momentum and show the rest of the world just how much Danish fashion has to offer. The Danish Edit is a brilliant opportunity to give even more people the chance to experience our strong design DNA and international appeal, thereby enabling Danish fashion to translate this international attention into concrete business opportunities and growth.”
– Thomas Klausen, CEO, Dansk Mode & Textil

Creative Denmark Maps Danish Fashion in Paris

Alongside The Danish Edit, Creative Denmark has developed a dedicated map highlighting Danish brands presenting their collections across Paris during Paris Fashion Week.

The map connects individual showrooms and presentations, creating a broader view of Danish fashion activity across the city. It is also intended to make the collective Danish presence more visible to international press, buyers and industry stakeholders.

“We’re proud to support an international initiative alongside three strong organisations that each play an important role in Danish fashion. The Danish Edit reflects the collaborative DNA that defines Denmark’s creative ecosystem and strengthens our shared international platform.”
– Majken Kalhave, Executive Director, Creative Denmark

The Danish Edit reflects a long-term collaborative effort by CIFF, Copenhagen Fashion Week, Dansk Mode & Textil and Creative Denmark to strengthen Danish fashion internationally. By creating new platforms, connections and opportunities in key global markets, the organisations aim to support the continued international development of Danish brands.
