TEXTILCOLOR AG has acquired the application patents for Pyroshell™, an advanced flame-protection technology, from Schoeller Textil AG. Already the producer of its chemical components, Textilcolor now strengthens its international market position by gaining full rights to apply this innovation across high-performance textiles.

Pyroshell™ offers permanent flame resistance for polyamide and polyester fabrics, expanding in volume when exposed to fire. This delays the onset of second-degree burns, giving wearers critical reaction time. Unlike conventional treatments, the halogen-free technology is integrated into the fabric itself, ensuring lasting protection without compromising breathability, elasticity, or comfort.

Ideal for professionals exposed to fire hazards—including security personnel, police, railway workers, electricians, and military forces—Pyroshell™ has already been applied in tactical gear such as UF PRO’s Striker FR Gen.2 BDU.

Key benefits include: permanent flame protection, compatibility with synthetic fabrics, superior comfort and durability, and halogen-free sustainability. With patents secured until 2037, Textilcolor ensures market exclusivity and continued development of the technology.

“This acquisition is a milestone in our growth strategy for high-tech textile solutions,” said Detlef Fischer, CEO of TEXTILCOLOR AG. “By combining Pyroshell™ with our expertise, we can deliver innovative, sustainable, and future-oriented protective textile solutions worldwide.”
