The EU-funded tExtended project will actively participate in the upcoming 3rd ECOSYSTEX conference, taking place from September 29 to October 1, 2025, at the Jacy’z Hotel in Gothenburg, Sweden.

tExtended will host an interactive workshop titled “Building a Collaborative Circular Textile System”, engaging participants with its early findings on system dynamics modeling, value chain logistics, and barriers to a circular transition. Feedback from the session will help validate current insights and further refine future pathways for textile circularity and policy development. The session will be led by experts from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, and Tekologistik.

Dr. Pirjo Heikkilä, Project Coordinator at VTT, stated, “We’ve made great progress on digital and technological solutions for textile waste and circularity, but collaboration beyond our project is essential. This workshop will ensure our direction remains aligned with broader industry needs.”

Additionally, tExtended will showcase an exhibition of textile samples co-produced with project partners, ranging from recycled material outputs to market-ready garments — all demonstrating the project’s innovation and cross-collaborative strength.

The ECOSYSTEX community, launched in 2023, aims to accelerate sustainable practices in the European textile ecosystem. This year’s conference theme centers around emerging technologies and circular business models.
