The 10th edition of Techtextil India 2025 concluded successfully at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The three-day fair attracted 9,144 visitors from 235 Indian cities and 45 countries. Notably, buyers from Western India accounted for a large share of the footfall.

Overall, the exhibition hosted 216 exhibitors representing more than 300 brands. In addition, solutions across 12 application areas kept the show floor active throughout the event. As a result, the fair reinforced India’s ambition to emerge as a global hub for value-added technical textiles.

Connecting the Technical Textiles Ecosystem

Importantly, Techtextil India 2025 served as a strong sourcing and knowledge platform. It drew decision-makers from mobility, healthcare, construction, filtration, protection, and sportswear sectors. Consequently, the fair helped bridge gaps between fibre producers, converters, brand owners, and end users.

Moreover, support from industry associations and state textile departments strengthened collaboration. This backing also encouraged investment across India’s technical textiles value chain.

Sustainability Takes Centre Stage

Meanwhile, conference sessions and special features focused on sustainability-driven themes. These included circular supply chains, advanced recycling, bio-based materials, and resource-efficient manufacturing. Together, these discussions aligned with India’s broader export strategy for high-value and environmentally responsible textiles.

Sharing her perspective, Smt. R. Lalitha, IAS, Director of Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu, highlighted man-made fibres as a sunrise sector. She also noted that sustainability and circularity will accelerate research and development in India.

Strong Business Engagement from Exhibitors

For fibre and material innovators, the exhibition delivered valuable business interactions. According to Mr. Shyamlal Patnaik of Birla Cellulose, the platform enabled direct engagement with customers and genuine buyers. It also helped companies showcase new products effectively.

On the opening day, Brawntex Industries Pvt. Ltd. announced a partnership with Japan-based Kurabo Industries Ltd. Commenting on the experience, Mr. Nitesh Mittal said the show attracted focused footfall and meaningful business conversations.

Similarly, exhibitors from the Germany Pavilion reported strong interest. Mr. Umashankar Mahapatra of Pulcra Chemicals noted that the show connected traditional textile players with opportunities in technical textiles.

Product Innovation Across Applications

Across the exhibition, companies showcased high-performance fibres, specialty yarns, functional fabrics, and nonwoven solutions. In addition, coating, finishing, testing, and automation technologies drew attention.

Innovations ranged from firefighter suits and crop covers to airbags, vehicle seating, parachutes, and industrial workwear. Meanwhile, advances in knitting technologies across multiple applications also generated strong visitor interest.

Conferences Spotlight Sports Textiles and Circularity

A dedicated Sporttech Pavilion, organised with Concepts N Strategies, hosted three high-impact panel discussions. These sessions highlighted India’s growing capabilities in premium and scalable activewear manufacturing.

At the same time, conferences powered by the Indian Technical Textile Association explored crop protection, coastal protection wear, and smart material integration. Another conference with the Society of Plastics Engineers focused on circular supply chains, including PET waste-to-yarn, AI-based sorting, and recycling automation.

Positive Visitor Experience

Visitors praised the exhibition’s comprehensive scope. Ms. Samidha Mayee of Archroma described the show as inclusive, covering everything from fibres and yarns to recycling technologies.

Likewise, Mr. Ashish Arya of Thermaissance highlighted the learning experience. He especially noted insights into recycling processes and rapid product innovation. In addition, he appreciated the event’s organisation and ambience.

Looking Ahead

Finally, the next edition of Techtextil India aims to build on this momentum. It will continue to offer a strong marketplace and knowledge platform for the global technical textiles industry.
