Tata Group’s value fashion brand, Zudio, is gearing up for substantial growth by aiming to open between 150 to 200 new physical stores by the end of the 2025 financial year. The family-oriented fashion brand seeks to tap into the growing demand for reasonably priced clothing in India.

An insider familiar with the development revealed that Zudio is planning a significant expansion for the fiscal year 2024-25, with an estimate of adding 150 to 200 new stores. Despite a slowdown in sales experienced by various retailers in India, Zudio has seen success due to shifting consumer preferences towards affordability without compromising on fashion trends.

Tata Group’s retail arm, Trent Limited, has rapidly expanded Zudio’s presence by already inaugurating over 100 exclusive brand outlets in the ongoing 2024 financial year. The plan entails further store openings in new locations during the remaining months of the current fiscal period.

Zudio, launched seven years ago by Tata Group, caters to young Indians seeking value fashion. The brand offers a range of casual wear, party wear, lounge wear, accessories, and lifestyle products for men, women, and children, all priced below Rs 1,000.

Additionally, Trent Limited manages the Westside department store chain and operates in a joint venture with Spain-based apparel giant Inditex SA, retailing Massimo Dutti and Zara products in India. The expansive plans for Zudio reflect Tata Group’s commitment to offering affordable yet trendy fashion options to Indian consumers.
