On this 77th Independence Day, Tata CLiQ Luxury, India’s premier luxury lifestyle platform, honours freedom, fearlessness, and the future by releasing a special video featuring some of the most exciting voices shaping the future who share their ideas on freedom and their hopes for the future. The creators featured in the video are part of Tata CLiQ Luxury’s #The New40, an annual feature that highlights the brand’s dedication to embracing innovation, nurturing creativity, and celebrating individuality.
Tata CLiQ Luxury’s Slow Commerce brand philosophy emphasises the finer elements of craftsmanship and tranquillity of the overall luxury shopping experience, and this has always guided the marketing strategy at every consumer touchpoint. In its third edition, #TheNew40 captures the zeitgeist of the accelerated 2020s, where creators inform and inspire emerging trends. It recognises a new generation of creative pioneers, from artists and designers to AI creators. The 40 creators on this list are from different cities across India as well as the Indian diaspora living in cities outside the country. The featured creators are those who, through their work, are revolutionising their respective fields.
The video released as part of the Independence Day celebration brings forth unique and diverse perspectives on freedom from the creators. Akshat Bansal, the visionary founder of Bloni, who has dressed leading celebrities such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Karan Johar, says, “Freedom to me is not to be typecast, categorised, or boxed in. It’s the freedom to not be associated, judged, or understood in terms of my birth, my upbringing, or my conditioning.”
Anish Gawande, the founder of The Pink List, the country’s first archive of politicians supporting LGBTQ+ rights and the driving force behind the Dara Shikoh Fellowship, explains, “Freedom to me, in Nina’s most iconic words, means no fear. The audacity to love, the joy of smelling the champa flowers at the end of the summer, the celebrations of families, both of birth and of choice.” Sarah Sham, Principal Designer of Essajees Atelier, adds, “Freedom, to me, is being able to live life on your own terms.”
With the #TheNew40 initiative, Tata CLiQ Luxury aims to build and foster a community of these creators, whose creative energy defines our era and will shape the future.
