Studio Heritage Living (SHL), a strategic sourcing and product development advisory, concluded its participation at Fall 2026 NY Home Fashions Market Week, held from September 14 to 17. The studio used the event to highlight how retail architecture and product storytelling can help home textile manufacturers build stronger retail propositions.

As part of the event, SHL created the complete retail architecture for Alok Industries’ Home Textiles Division at its Madison Avenue showroom. The concept translated Alok Industries’ product portfolio into a structured retail experience for buyers and sourcing professionals.

Meanwhile, changing consumer preferences are encouraging manufacturers to look beyond conventional product specifications. They are increasingly focusing on communicating the purpose, value and relevance of their product ranges.

SHL addresses this shift by connecting product development with retail presentation. Its approach helps manufacturers build cohesive B2B narratives across product selection, pricing, packaging and merchandising.

Four Sleep Platforms Build a Structured Retail Story

A key highlight of SHL’s participation was its collaboration with Alok Industries. The studio developed the showroom’s retail architecture around four sleep platforms: Recovery, Reset, Restore and Balance.

Each platform focused on a specific consumer need, product story and retail presentation. As a result, buyers could understand Alok Industries’ product offerings while also connecting product features with consumer requirements.

The retail architecture brought together product development, packaging, pricing and merchandising. This approach demonstrated how manufacturers can transform their product portfolios into cohesive, store-ready propositions.

The showcase also received a strong response from retailers. In particular, the presentation highlighted the value of clear and differentiated product narratives within the B2B buying environment.

Speaking about the collaboration, Biji Chacko, COO, Alok Industries, said: “It has been a wonderful experience working with Studio Heritage Living. They helped us in designing this thought process, and within a short time, they did a marvelous job. I am very happy with the work Disha and her team have done in putting everything in place, developing the packaging, and helping to develop the products. It was a wonderful experience working with them.”

Alok Industries Adopts a Consumer-Oriented Approach

The collaboration also reflected Alok Industries’ move towards a more consumer-oriented product development strategy. Rather than focusing mainly on manufacturing capabilities and thread-count-led specifications, the company explored product stories centred on comfort, wellness and functionality.

The product direction included breathable and performance fabrics, along with natural material options. SHL then brought these elements together through a cohesive retail presentation for buyers.

Disha Shah, Founder, Studio Heritage Living, said: “The home textiles industry is evolving, and manufacturers today have an opportunity to communicate their product offerings through stronger, more integrated stories. Retail architecture is about bringing clarity to how a product is positioned, presented and communicated to the retailer. Our work with Alok Industries reflects this approach, bringing together product development, packaging and merchandising to create a retail proposition that connects the manufacturer with the needs of the market.”

SHL Connects with Home Textile Manufacturers

Beyond its work with Alok Industries, SHL met with other manufacturing companies during Market Week. These discussions focused on the growing role of retail architecture and product storytelling within the home textile sector.

The conversations also highlighted the need for manufacturers to build stronger narratives around their product ranges. Clear storytelling can help retailers understand product differentiation, pricing, functionality and consumer relevance.

Furthermore, SHL brings experience across sourcing, manufacturing, buying, product development and consumer-oriented strategy. The studio therefore works as a strategic partner for manufacturers looking to strengthen their retail propositions.

Its approach translates product capabilities into clear and compelling stories. This includes product positioning, pricing, packaging and presentation.

Overall, the collaboration between SHL and Alok Industries at NY Home Fashions Market Week demonstrates how retail architecture can bring product stories to life in a B2B environment. It also shows how manufacturers can connect their production expertise with the changing expectations of retailers and the global home textiles market.
