Delhi NCR, 30th September 2024 – The non-profit arm of India’s biggest sports education company, Sportz Village Foundation, and Casio India Co. Pvt. Ltd., a division of Casio Computer Japan, are pleased to announce the start of their CSR initiative, “Sports for Change.” Casio India will support a group of 20 government schools in Noida that are under the U.P. State Board as part of the program, with the goal of encouraging sports and providing instruction to impoverished kids.
In order to create and carry out this project, Casio and the Sportz Village Foundation collaborated to perform in-depth surveys among kids, parents, and teachers at a number of Noida government schools. The surveys determined the preferences and interests of the kids as well as the difficulties and obstacles schools encounter in offering sufficient sports facilities. The “Sports for Change” initiative seeks to develop a culture of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and perseverance among impoverished children by encouraging sports and improving their physical and mental health.
Speaking about the campaign, Mr. Akira Watanabe, Director, Casio India, said, “The ‘Sports for Change’ initiative is a testament to Casio’s creed of creativity and contribution.” We are enabling young minds to flourish through sports participation through this initiative. The initiative, which supports organized activities both within and outside of schools, opens doors to sporting greatness.
In addition, the program aims to empower boys and girls equally, making sure that every child has the opportunity to succeed in athletics, regardless of gender or background. We are thrilled to begin this initiative in collaboration with Sportz Village Foundation and have a significant, positive impact on the lives of the youngsters.
The “Sports for Change” program will incorporate a sports curriculum into normal timetables at 20 U.P. Government Schools, covering around 4,000 pupils over the course of the year with an emphasis on holistic development. The top 200 kids will be selected for an after-school advanced training program at each of the four Sport Development Centers (SDCs) after their physical abilities are evaluated to find talents specific to a particular sport.
This program reflects Casio’s dedication to social progress, adherence to the word and spirit of the CSR regulations, and expansion of their objective beyond educational technology into the sports industry. Casio encourages kids to play sports because it helps them develop holistically and instills values like tenacity, teamwork, and character.
