Skyview by Empyrean, a venture of FIL Industries Private Limited, is setting new benchmarks in India’s ropeway sector. After its success with the Skyview Gondola in Jammu, the company is now developing India’s longest monocable ropeway—spanning 5.8 km from Dehradun’s Purkulgam to Mussoorie’s MDDA taxi stand. Phase I is expected to be completed by September 2026, with travel time reduced to under 20 minutes.
In addition, FIL has secured the 3.8 km Yamunotri ropeway project, connecting Yamunotri with Kharsali in Uttarakhand, reinforcing its leadership in green mobility.
Executive Director Syed Junaid Altaf emphasized the brand’s mission to deliver world-class infrastructure that’s sustainable, safe, and community-focused. Skyview Gondola showcases this vision through eco-conscious construction, planting over 8,000 saplings and avoiding tree cutting during development.
The brand collaborates with international leaders like POMA, E.R.I.C Ropeways, MND Group, Sage Geotech Inc., and Dianeige Mountain Design to bring advanced engineering and global standards to Indian ropeways. Skyview Gondola, with 18 eight-seater cabins, stands as the largest Indo-French mountain tourism project.
With rigorous safety protocols—including 200+ daily checks, annual third-party certifications, and zero unplanned breakdowns—the system operates 364 days a year. Preventive maintenance and rescue drills with NDRF, led by European-certified trainers, ensure complete readiness.
Skyview by Empyrean’s Jammu project was recently awarded the FICCI Excellence Award for Maintenance Systems and recognized by the Responsible Tourism Society of India as the country’s first Sustainable Tourism Destination.
With government initiatives like the Parvatmala Pariyojana, India’s ropeway sector is poised for rapid growth, and Skyview by Empyrean is leading the charge.
