The Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) has officially opened entries for the Global Colourist Award 2025, an international competition celebrating exceptional talent in the coloration industry. This prestigious award recognizes professionals in the first 10 years of their careers who are making significant contributions to colour science and application.
Open to specialists across textiles, dyes, pigments, leather, food, paint, production dyeing, shift dyeing, and printing, the award highlights technical expertise, creativity, and innovation in the industry.

The winner will receive a £1,000 cash prize, a fully funded trip to the UK for the SDC Day of Celebration, and a feature in The Colourist magazine.
Last year’s winner, Joanna Kay ASDC of Heathcoat Fabrics Ltd, was recognized for her dedication to advancing dyeing techniques and bridging the gap between design and technical processes. Reflecting on her achievement, she expressed gratitude for the honor and the encouragement it provided to push boundaries in colour science.
