For their outstanding efforts in manufacturing knitwear, woven accessories, and estate tweeds, King Charles has awarded Johnstons of Elgin a Royal Warrant. With this accreditation, they become one of the roughly 800 Royal Warrant Holders that provide goods and services to the Royal Household.
Johnstons of Elgin is the largest manufacturer of fine woolens and premium cashmere in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1797 and currently employs over 1000 people. This latest honor comes after a month filled with noteworthy accomplishments, such as receiving The King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade and commemorating a year of being a certified B Corporation.
Vice Chair Jenny Urquhart of Johnstons of Elgin said the firm was thrilled to receive this honor and emphasized their commitment to making top-notch products. Johnstons of Elgin are authorized to provide products or services to the Royal Household for a maximum of five years at a time as holders of a Royal Warrant of Appointment.
For fashion brands, a Royal Warrant may be an effective marketing tool that boosts sales through greater exposure, customer confidence, status, credibility, and market reach. The connection to the Royal Family has the potential to greatly raise exposure both locally and globally.
