There are very few brands that sincerely celebrate womanhood, and Beetroot stands tall among them. Based in Mumbai, Beetroot’s studio brings together artisans and designers as an integrated community of practitioners. Together, they experiment with handwoven textiles, intricate embroideries, and exquisite detailing across dresses, tunics, kurtas, and diverse silhouettes. For Beetroot, every stitch, fabric choice, and design element is intentional aimed at creating more than clothing, and instead offering women an avenue for self-love, self-expression, and self-empowerment.

In a fashion landscape often driven by fast trends and fleeting aesthetics, Beetroot chooses depth over noise. It does not just design clothes it tells stories, honours heritage, and gives women a way to express their truest selves. Founded by Deepika Lodha, the brand was born from a place of reverence for India’s textile traditions, its intricate craftsmanship, and the countless untold stories woven into every warp and weft.

Deepika always resonated with the saying, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” She wanted to build a label that felt personal, inclusive, and real. Steering away from conventional names and approaches in the apparel industry, she chose ‘Beetroot’ distinctive, rooted, and vibrant, just like the women she designs for.

The brand began with sarees, a deliberate choice. For Deepika, the  saree was never just six yards of fabric. It symbolised empowerment,  confidence, and pride, a garment that lets women embrace their  individuality while celebrating femininity. Every early Beetroot creation  reflected her own journey and the stories of women she met, making  each piece deeply personal.  Over time, Beetroot evolved. After dedicating over a decade to  sarees, Deepika expanded the line to include dresses, tunics, and  kurtas. The vision remained the same to blend the rich tapestry of  Indian culture with contemporary aesthetics to create a captivating fusion of style and tradition. Today, the brand is known for its seamless fusion of bold, vibrant prints with elegant, minimalist silhouettes. Handwoven textiles, intricate embroideries, and exquisite detailing transform each garment into a wearable work of art.

What makes Beetroot’s celebration of womanhood sincere is its narrative. The collections do not chase an idealised version of femininity. Instead, they artfully convey resilience, hope, and the beauty of embracing one’s true self. The versatile ensembles are designed to transition effortlessly across occasions, ensuring women never have to choose between culture, comfort, and contemporary style.

That authenticity has found a global audience. Beetroot is now present in almost all the top multi-designer stores across India and caters to international stores in the Middle East as well. Last year, the brand exhibited at Lakmé Fashion Week in both New Delhi and Mumbai, earning acclaim from domestic and international markets alike.

As Deepika shares, “I’m really happy to see the brand progressing so fast and well received and accepted by the domestic and international markets. We also got the privilege to serve the royals of the Emirates during our recent show in Abu Dhabi.”

Beetroot proves that when a brand is built on respect for tradition and belief in individuality, it does more than dress women. It celebrates them loudly, proudly, and without having to speak.
