Although Vhernier is a tiny business, Richemont has a track record of growing niche companies into household names.
The Traglio family is selling Cartier owner Richemont all of its shares in the Italian jewelry brand Vhernier, which is most known for its foldover Abbraccio ring. The transaction’s terms were not made public.
Bernstein estimates that Vhernier’s yearly revenues are in the range of €50–100 million, making it a modest company. However, Richemont has a track record of transforming niche businesses into household names: when Richemont bought Van Cleef & Arpels in 1999 and Buccellati in 2019, respectively, both companies were roughly the same size as Vhernier.
