Reflection NX, is the annual fashion show of the 3rd year for Fashion Designing students of Swadhar Career Institute, a unit of Smt. P.N. Doshi Women’s College, NAAC accredited ‘A’ grade III cycle, Managed by SPRJ Kanyashala trust.
Reflection NX has been showcasing the creativity of our fashion students since 2007-08. With the support from the Trust members and outstanding guidance from our Director Dr. S. Kumudhavalli, the fashion course has been appreciated by the industry with our students being placed in reputed establishments. The fashion course & syllabus is constantly upgraded to match the needs of today’s industry by founder member and head of the department Kinarrii Thakkar.
Fashion Designing is a 3-year Advanced diploma course, whereby the students learn the theoretical and practical implications of Fashion subjects. Different topics like Fashion Illustration, Colour Theories, Drafting, Pattern making, Sewing, Haute Couture finishes, Textiles, Embroidery, Merchandising, etc are taught to facilitate the student with complete know-how of the fashion industry. Students also undergo computer aided designing to be abreast with the changing world and to befit any opportunity.
In third year graduating students put together a fashion show ‘Reflection NX’ whereby they come in touch with the hard-core reality and the whereabouts of the actual garment makers. e.g., Masters, kaarigars, embroidery artists, dyers, printers, and many more people who are responsible to actualize their creation of paper onto the perfect-looking ensemble on the model. They also get an insight into the organization of a fashion show. Selection of models, practice sessions, ramp walk, sequence setting, music coordination, choreography, model makeup, fashion shoots, write-up of profiles and their collections, and finally achieving the complete look when the show is presented.
The world of fashion offers a multitude of job opportunities to our graduating students. Our students complete their internships of 3 months and get job opportunities as Assistant designers, Assistant merchandisers, Supervisors, Quality controllers, Product developers, embroidery designers, and many more. Most of them also do freelance designing and start-ups. They take design orders and participate in exhibitions. For Reflection NX, the students select an inspiration & work around it to create a very unique ensemble of dresses to suit & match their target audience

The beauty of the ocean inspires every artist. This collection is an ensemble of blues in flowy and fun styles
5. Nasir-AL-Mulk (Best collection)
A surreal mosque of Nasir-AL-Mulk with its breath-taking stain glass work has inspired our duo designers to capture its beauty in this collection
