Reflection NX, is the annual fashion show of the 3rd year Fashion Designing students of Swadhar Career institute, a unit of Smt. P.N. Doshi women’s college, NAAC accredited “A” grade III cycle ,Managed by SPRJ Kanyashala trust.
Reflection NX has been showcasing creativity of our fashion students since 2007-08. With the support from the Trust members and outstanding guidance from our Director Dr. S. Kumudhavalli, the fashion course has been appreciated by the industry with our students being placed in reputed establishments. The fashion course & syllabus is constantly upgraded to match the needs of today’s industry by well qualified faculty Ms. Kinnari Thakkar & Mrs. Riya Mehra.
The Fashion Designing is a 3-year Advanced diploma course, whereby the students learn theoretical and practical implications of Fashion subjects. Different topics like Fashion Illustration, Colour Theories, Drafting, Pattern making, Sewing, Haute Couture finishes, Textiles, Embroidery, Merchandising, etc are taught to facilitate the student with complete know-how of the fashion industry. Students also undergo computer aided designing to be abreast with the changing world and to befit any opportunity.
In third year graduating students put together a fashion show “Reflection NX “whereby they come in touch with the hard-core reality and the whereabouts of the actual garment makers. e.g., Masters, karigars, embroiderywalas, dyers, printers, and many more people who are responsible to actualize their creation of paper on to the perfect looking ensemble on the model. They also get an insight about the organization of a fashion show. Selection of models, practice sessions, ramp walk, sequence setting, music coordination, choreography, model makeup, and fashion shoots, write up of profiles and their collections, and finally achieve the complete look when the show is presented.
The world of fashion offers a multitude of job opportunities to our graduating students. Our students complete their internships of 3 months and get job opportunities as Assistant designers, Assistant merchandisers, Supervisors, Quality controllers, Product developers, embroidery designers and many more. Most of them also do freelance designing and start-ups. They take designing orders and participate in exhibitions. For Reflection NX, the students select an inspiration & work around it to create a unique ensemble of dresses to suit & match their target audience.
The collections created this year are as follows:
- Naga Fashion Nomadic
Inspired by Nagaland’s diverse indigenous attire, the designers have designed created and digitally printed the fabric. The patterns and motifs, vividly displayed in a burst of vibrant colours, evoke the spirit of this enchanting land. Each design is a canvas, painted with a digital brush inspired by the rich tapestry of Nagaland’s cultural landscape.
- Paithani perfection
The collection is reimagined Maharashtrian Paithani saree in a Western dress form. Picture the elegance of a Paithani saree combined with the modern flair of Western fashion
- Stary Stary night
Accentuated the richness of Black, making a bold and unforgettable statement. “Our collection is a fusion of modern trends and classic sophistication, ensuring a captivating and memorable fashion experience.”
- Floriography
The designers have used floral patches, beads, Diamond in creative way
for a chic look
- Chic Onesies
It is an ode to the impeccable fusion of jumpsuits and jackets, creating a visual symphony of sophistication and flair.
- Woven Wonders
Each garment, meticulously crafted by the designers with the rhythmic precision of crochet techniques, showcases the versatility of this age-old craft in contemporary fashion. The crochet theme celebrates the beauty of handmade creations, highlighting the skill, creativity, and intricate detail embedded in every stitch
- Desi Chic

- Regalia – The Adabkari
