ReCircle prepares for its final Dry Waste Collection Drive of the year on December 20, 21, and 22 in Mumbai as the spirit of the holidays permeates the air.
In an effort to clean up Mumbai, ReCircle, the top resource recovery organization, and Pickk, India’s top lifestyle-focused fresh food brand, have partnered to bring back their highly anticipated Christmas Dry Waste Collection Drive.
Following the success of its Diwali Waste Collection Drive in Mumbai this October, ReCircle gathered more than 45,000 kg of dry waste in two weeks.
ReCircle is now working to encourage people and households to prioritize waste segregation through the Christmas Dry Waste Collection Drive. The goal is to divert as much dry waste from landfills and water bodies as possible while focusing on community mobilization during Christmas, a season of giving, renewal, and joy.

“To create a cleaner and more equitable city for everybody, we need straightforward yet efficient solutions in a setting like Mumbai, where we are struggling with increasing trash, pollution, and urbanization. By combining public action with education about the value of recycling, waste segregation, and encouraging people to adopt sustainable practices, our Christmas Dry Waste Collection Drive is a positive start. “Every sign-up matters if we want a cleaner Mumbai because we believe in the power of community in creating a significant impact,” said Nikki Gupta, Brand Advisor at ReCircle.
ReCircle gathers all dry recyclable waste from homes, businesses, and schools as part of its monthly dry waste collection program, which is held in designated areas throughout Mumbai.
Pluckkadds CEO Pratik Gupta, “We have collaborated with ReCircle on their Christmas drive for the second year in a row. A key component of our principles at Pluckk is our emphasis on sustainability and our active participation in minimizing our plastic footprint. As our business expands, we hope to have a good environmental impact, and these activities help us achieve that goal.
Paper/cardboard, plastic, metal, glass, and e-waste are among the materials that have been gathered and will be delivered to ReCircle’s Material Recovery Facility in Dahisar, Mumbai. After being separated, the garbage will be cleaned, processed, and bailed by Safai Saathis or ReCircle’s informal waste workers. After processing, this garbage is delivered to recyclers, who turn it into plastic granules. After that, the granules are transformed into new products.
