Luxury fashion platform Rebelle is set to close and merge with its parent company Vinted’s platform, 18 months after Vinted acquired the business. Rebelle will officially shut down on March 18, with the process beginning on February 19. Account holders will receive invitations to transfer some information to Vinted, but only ongoing orders can be completed during this transition period.
Concierge items from Rebelle won’t move to Vinted, and arrangements are being made to return these to sellers. Rebelle’s founder, Cécile Wickmann, sees this as a “new beginning” as she takes on the role of Senior Director Luxury at Vinted.
Vinted aims to expand its presence in the upscale market through its own platform. Despite Rebelle’s luxury focus, Vinted had integrated Rebelle’s verification process last year for numerous designer and streetwear labels. This move broadens Vinted’s offerings, encompassing a wider range of items and price points, aligning with the diverse landscape of other resale sites.
