The MB100 winners effectively illustrate how addressing difficult social and environmental concerns may be accomplished by fusing business and purpose.
The co-founder and CEO of the cleantech business ReCircle, Rahul Nainani, has been recognized as one of this year’s Meaningful Business 100 (MB100), an annual award program that honours CEOs who combine profit with purpose. ReCircle’s goal of switching to a circular waste system will be aided by this partnership.
Winners were chosen from more than 850 nominations worldwide, representing 81 countries, and were curated by a team of 30 judges with expertise from organizations like as Google, the United Nations, the Rockefeller Foundation, Arm, Mastercard, and Temasek. Equity, effect, innovation, leadership, and scalability were the five main criteria used to assess these exceptional impact investors, social entrepreneurs, and corporate sustainability leaders.
“Congratulations to Rahul Nainani, whose outstanding work at ReCircle powerfully demonstrates that combining profit with purpose can address today’s most complex social and environmental challenges,” remarked Tom Lytton-Dickie, Founder & CEO, Meaningful Business, in response to the 2024 MB100. Rahul is a wonderful addition to the worldwide Meaningful Business community, and we look forward to helping them grow their presence and effect in the years to come.
“We started ReCircle with a singular mission: to accelerate the world’s transition to a circular economy,” stated Rahul Nainani, co-founder and CEO of ReCircle, in reflection of the accomplishment. We are thrilled that the esteemed 2024 Meaningful Business MB100 list has acknowledged our “profit fuelled by purpose” approach to trash management. We are excited to take part in the year-round program and gain knowledge from the amazing network peers. Through this partnership, we will be able to grow our company sustainably, create a transparent and traceable waste value chain, and support projects that can have a positive social and environmental impact in addition to being profitable.
In its sixth year, the winners will take part in a year-round program that gives them access to pro-bono services, funding possibilities, a worldwide peer network, and resources for capacity building. Leading organizations including Hogan Lovells, Babson College, Green Frontier Capital, and Kenya Climate Ventures sponsor the initiative.
“Congratulations to the outstanding social entrepreneurs, corporate sustainability champions, and impact investors of the MB100 Class of 2024!” said Stasia Mitchell, EY Global Entrepreneurship Leader, who is also one of the MB100 judges. These leaders, who were chosen from more than 850 nominations, are combining profit and purpose to change communities and industries. It is a privilege for me to have served as a judge this year and to see how they confidently create the future to bring about significant change on a worldwide level.
