Primark has announced the opening date of its third store in Romania, located in Timisoara. The store will be the first in the western part of the country, situated in the Iulius Town Timisoara mixed-use project. Opening on August 7th, Primark Timisoara will be ready for the summer rush and the upcoming back-to-school season. This marks an important milestone as Primark continues to expand in Central and Eastern Europe.

The new Primark store in Timisoara will bring over 150 job opportunities to the local economy, including retail assistant and managerial roles. Spanning 3,200 square meters on the first floor of a shopping center, the store will offer the latest fashion trends and essentials for women, men, children, beauty, and home.

Primark’s new store in Timisoara will feature the Primark Cares label, offering more sustainable clothing at affordable prices. Currently, 55% of Primark’s clothes are made using recycled or sustainably sourced materials, with a commitment to reaching 100% by 2030. Maciej Podwojski, Head of Sales, CEE at Primark, expressed excitement for the store’s opening this summer, marking an important milestone in their expansion plans in Central and Eastern Europe. The store will bring the Primark brand closer to customers in Romania’s western region, reducing the need to travel abroad to visit Primark stores.

Oana Diaconescu, the Head of Leasing at IULIUS, expressed excitement about finally being able to welcome the popular brand Primark to Iulius Town Timisoara due to customer demand. This marks a valuable addition to the IULIUS portfolio, as Primark chose their mixed-use complex in Romania for their first store outside of the Capital. Primark sees Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) as an important growth region and has recently opened its first store in Hungary, making it the 6th market in CEE where they now have 13 stores. Additionally, Primark plans to open two more stores in the region this year in Poland and the Czech Republic.
