Saves 13 Million Plastic Bottles from Waste Streams,
as Part of ‘PRESERVING THE PLANET’ Initiative

Earlier this year, Precision Textiles collaborated with Unifi, Inc., the producers of REPREVE® recycled performance fiber, for use in their ENDURE IFR and ADVANTAGE SB product lines, as part of their ‘PRESERVING THE PLANET’ program. Thus, the company’s filler fabric is created from 228 recycled plastic bottles for every 100-yard roll. This indicates that the business and its clients are immediately improving the environment by removing more than 20 million plastic bottles from the waste stream each year through the use of their purchasing power.
“We thought it would be a bit ambitious when we first set out to help remove 20 million bottles from landfills and the ocean. However, we’ve already saved more than 10 million bottles in just six months, which puts us on pace to surpass our initial goal, according to Precision Textiles CEO Scott Tesser. “The World Economic Forum predicts that by 2050, there may be more plastic in the water than fish if human behavior doesn’t change.
