Bhatt’s version of the motif was frothy & delicate, with gems liberally scattered around the sari.
Alia Bhatt recently made her second appearance at the Met Gala, donning a shirt adorned with genuine diamonds and an exquisitely created sari. Adding shock value is undoubtedly the best method to create a memorable appearance for yourself at a red-carpet event such as the Met Gala. Alia Bhatt accepts the challenge and approaches red carpet jewelry with style and originality.
The Heart of Stone star went to her Indian heritage for inspiration this time around, unlike when she made her red carpet debut in a Prabal Gurung gown last year. Wearing a mint-green sari custom-designed by Indian couturier Sabyasachi, Bhatt ascended the Met staircase with gems sparkling from atop her loosely braided hair to her train.
Anaita Shroff Adajania, a seasoned stylist and frequent red carpet partner, assisted Bhatt in interpreting the topic of this year’s Met show, “Sleeping Beauties Reawakening Fashion.” Before her red carpet debut, the actor explained the sari’s design, saying, “With its translucent, glass-like appearance, it’s not just a nod to the ethereal quality of the garden in Ballard’s story.
I was drawn to this design because of its bold combination of avant-garde aesthetics and classic craftsmanship. Given his commitment to blending contemporary sophistication with vintage charm, Sabyasachi felt like the ideal candidate to embody the Met Gala’s theme this year.
“It is an honor for me to design the traditional Indian sari, which is made by hand using methods that have been passed down through the years and perfected over a lifetime of work for Alia. Regarding his choice to create a sari, Sabyasachi Mukherjee remarked.
In order to develop this unique appearance for Bhatt, the designer rejected what he considered overt “mechanization, modernization, and uniformity” in order to reflect his concept of the nature-oriented dress code.
