TIWC 2025 Heads to Porto: Spotlight on Sustainable Textile Futures
The 93rd Textile Institute World Conference (TIWC 2025) will be held at the Porto Palácio Hotel & Spa, Portugal, from October 7–10, uniting global experts under the theme “Fibre to Future – Transforming Fashion and Textiles through Sustainability.”

This year’s conference delves deep into how sustainability and digitalisation are redefining every phase of the textile value chain—from fibre innovation and manufacturing to conscious consumer practices and circular design. With a four-day agenda featuring leading academics, industry pioneers, and policymakers, TIWC 2025 will spotlight practical strategies to lower environmental impact, embrace zero-carbon methods, and tackle waste at scale.

For the first time in its history, the event will be hosted by a company—AQUITEX, a renowned Portuguese developer of textile chemicals and auxiliaries—marking a milestone in public-private collaboration.

“This conference is about shaping a shared vision for a digitally-enabled and environmentally responsible future,” says Stephanie Dick, CEO of The Textile Institute. TIWC 2025 is more than an industry event—it’s a call to action for textile professionals to co-create solutions for a more sustainable world.
