PLI Scheme for Textiles Expands With 17 New Approvals

The Ministry of Textiles has approved 17 new applicants under Round 3 of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles. ₹2,374 Crore Investment and Strong Job Growth

The newly approved applicants have committed ₹2,374 crore in investment. Their projects are expected to generate over ₹12,893 crore in sales and create approximately 22,646 jobs in the coming years. This move is expected to support capacity building and scale expansion across the textile ecosystem.

Background of the PLI Scheme

Launched on September 24, 2021, the PLI Scheme has an approved outlay of ₹10,683 crore. It was designed to boost the production of MMF apparel, fabrics, and technical textiles while making India globally competitive. Earlier, 74 companies had been approved across Rounds 1 and 2.

Amendments and Application Window Reopened

Recently, the Ministry introduced amendments to increase participation and simplify access. As a result, the online application portal is now open for new submissions until December 31, 2025. Companies interested in applying can submit proposals on the official portal.
