FASHION VALUE CHAIN

The first dedicated high jewellery auction, A Journey Through Diamonds, has been formally
announced by Pharrell Williams’ global digital-first auction business, JOOPITER. The auction is
organised in collaboration with Lorraine Schwartz, an internationally famous American high
jewellery designer and third-generation diamond dealer.
In the business, Schwartz has a history of providing A-list celebrities with some of the most desirable
fine jewellery items and custom designs. Her work is frequently seen on red carpets, dazzling the
world with every photographer’s light as it is worn by industry titans. The world’s most precious
gems and one-of-a-kind works of art from Schwartz’s career will be on display at the A Journey
Through Gems auction. A stunning 50-carat D Flawless Typ IIa heart-shaped loose diamond, a pair of
18k white gold, four-panel diamond shape earrings with natural purple sapphire, natural paraiba,
and diamonds, and an 18k white gold diamond and Colombian emerald bib necklace with matching
earrings are some of the standout gems offered in the piece’s auctions.
A small number of lots, including a highly sought-after 26-carat Asscher-cut canary yellow diamond
ring, were co-designed by Pharrell and Schwartz. Schwartz said in a statement on her impending
collaboration with JOOPITER, “I was lucky enough to meet Pharrell over 20 years ago, and we’ve
formed an incredible friendship via a mutual appreciation for the most precious and unique gems in
the world. A Journey Through Gems, in my opinion, is not only a collection of the best custom-made
fine jewellery now on the market; it also tells the tale of our connection and journey through jewels.
I am thrilled to work with JOOPITER on this once-in-a-lifetime sale, giving a global audience access to
these treasures and their provenance.
Starting on March 17, an online auction called A Journey Through Diamonds will be available for bids
from all across the world. The event’s first physical manifestation outside of the United States will
take place in Hong Kong at the end of March during a special preview.
