Radhika Apte walked the runway for Vaishali S’ fall/winter 24 exhibition in Paris, demonstrating how Bollywood stars are clearly making their way into the global fashion scene, much like Kylie Jenner, Doja Cat, and other celebrities who regularly go to fashion week. This time, the actor participated in the seasonal event by walking the runway rather than taking a seat in the front row.
Tanishq entered the competition as the fashion designer’s jewelry partner, bringing a distinctive line known as Exquisite Diamond. Inspired by the Sunderbans’ mangroves, the series consists of necklaces that are expertly crafted over a three-month period in India by trained artisans. With carefully interwoven rare diamonds and precious stones to imitate leaves and branches against the flowing draping of the garment, each statement necklace embodied the idea of nature as a whole.
Wearing a necklace that blended the subtle waves of the Sundarbans with the form of Victorian organdy collars, Apte slid down the runway. The actor debuted two outfits from the collection: an azure blue dress with flowing cord method embellishment toward the end of the show, and a draped and corded maroon sari at the beginning.
The collection, called Satori, included traditional handwoven fabrics with the characteristic draped and corded forms of Shadangule. The spirit of both businesses, which seeks to showcase India’s artisanal heritage, is embodied in this partnership. Tanishq complements the couturier’s expression of it with their wonderfully created necklaces and earrings, while the latter communicates it through her unique cording inspired by nature.
India has had a significant impact on the global fashion and luxury scene by hosting major events on international red carpets and by embracing high-end brands into the local economy. Indian savoir-faire is clearly acknowledged in the fashion industry, and this is also the case in the jewelry industry right now. The way that Janhvi Kapoor walked for Rahul Mishra and how Radhika Apte played Vaishali S this season, it appears that Bollywood is likewise trying to establish itself internationally.
