In an exciting venture, designer and entrepreneur Oshin Sarin has introduced ‘Oshin’ as a sustainable clothing brand based in Mumbai. The brand takes a unique approach by offering fully unisex collections, moving away from traditional ‘menswear’ and ‘womenswear’ categories and instead categorizing clothing by ‘bodytype’ to promote inclusivity.
Oshin’s maiden collection, available on its new e-commerce store, aims to redefine unisex fashion by challenging the conventional notion that oversized clothing is its defining feature. The brand envisions a fresh perspective that goes beyond bulky garments and challenges traditional fashion conventions.
The debut collection focuses on denim, presenting a range of indigo to light wash ensembles, including maxi dresses and blazers with matching shorts. Oshin has also introduced its own sizing system to further encourage inclusivity, allowing individuals to explore and express their individual styles.
Oshin Sarin, a Parsons graduate with a BFA in fashion design, gained experience working for a Brooklyn-based clothing label before returning to India to launch her sustainable fashion brand. The label reflects her global influences and commitment to eco-friendly production processes.
