Although Indian customers are now more likely to purchase clothing online as a result of the pandemic, physical stores and markets continue to be the preferred alternative.

40 percent of consumers prefer a good mix of in-store and online purchases, 4 percent primarily purchase them online, 9 percent get them online, and 9 percent get them custom made from our local tailor. The report states that 47 percent of consumers continue to visit a mall or store to try them on and make a purchase.

“Unless the discounts offered stay high, which they have in the last few years, there is a high chance that online apparel buying will stagnate or see slow growth in India.”

Whether they live in an urban or rural location, the survey claimed that everyone can now purchase online thanks to widespread access to digital devices and the internet. Online shoppers are beginning to enjoy a more comprehensive, engaging, and customized purchasing experience. Nonetheless, internet sales remain a high single-digit percentage of total garment sales.
