Nuyarn® Wins Performance Days Wool Award for Fabric Innovation
Open-net construction showcases advanced performance wool technology
Nuyarn® Technologies, a developer of performance yarns and fabrics, has received the 2026 Performance Days Award for innovative fabrics. The award recognises the company’s work in advancing performance textiles through its open-net fabric construction.
The development was carried out alongside its partner, Takisada Corporation. It highlights the role of collaboration and continuous innovation in developing new textile solutions.
“This award reflects our ongoing drive to push the boundaries of performance textiles. Alongside our partners at Takisada Corporation, it demonstrates what’s possible when continuous innovation, fabric development, and strong partnerships come together,” said Andy Wynne, CEO of Nuyarn®.
Open-Net Construction for Performance Fabrics
The award-winning development features an open-net construction designed to improve breathability and manage moisture at the vapour stage. This approach supports a wide range of applications, from lightweight summer endurance apparel to high-performance alpine base layers.
Nuyarn® technology also enables brands to use natural and sustainable fibres while meeting the performance requirements of modern activewear. These include durability, elasticity and thermoregulation.
Through this development, Nuyarn® continues to explore the potential of natural fibres in performance textiles, combining material innovation with functional fabric design.
