The first Texcare Forum on African soil was held on June 4 in Casablanca, Morocco, and brought together about 120 participants from the laundry and dry cleaning business. Topics including automation, digital technologies, production, logistics, and environmental protection in the textile services industry were the subject of discussions amongst manufacturers, foreign specialists, and local specialist companies.
Casablanca was selected as the Texcare Forum’s location due to its significance as the hub of the Maghreb region’s economy. It is a promising site for the textile care business, with over 100 million people living there and a robust tourism and textile industry.
Messe Frankfurt, VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies, and the French Chamber of Commerce in Morocco (CFCIM) served as the forum’s organisers and partners. Christeyns was the primary sponsor; Kannegiesser, Tolon, Jensen, Imesa, ABS Laundry, and CM2W were the other sponsors.
Johannes Schmid-Wiedersheim, Director Brand Management Textile Care, summarised:
“The Texcare Forum Casablanca was created to provide a forum for professional laundry care to the healthcare and public sectors, as well as to the burgeoning regional tourism industry. It also aimed to foster international exchanges with suppliers and consultants.” That was really beautifully done, in my opinion! Visitors were able to quickly learn about the most recent practices for guaranteeing the sustainability, quality, and hygienic aspects of their textiles.
“The Texcare Forum in Casablanca offered an excellent opportunity to gain an insight into Morocco’s flourishing market for textile care,” stated Veronika März of VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies. The conference’s great and diverse schedule offered fascinating insights into a number of crucial industrial subjects, including the digitization of processes and the mitigation of environmental effect.
