The Graduation Project’s climax and student work exhibition/Fashion Show 2023 Ceremony are held
on Sunday, 28th May 2023, at a graduation show at NIFT Mumbai Kharghar campus. Eight departments, two postgraduate, and six undergraduate programs displayed their graduation
project. Every Department has a particular area of expertise and a distinctive method of presenting its
work.
All NIFT final-year students participate in a sponsored graduation project requiring them to spend 16
weeks working on a design collection (DC) or an industry-based project (GP). Graduation Show is the
completion of six months graduation project done in the industry by these graduating students. The
projects are done in different industries such as textile mills, garment export houses, home and retail
clothing brands, designers, media houses, publications, advertising agencies, film, theatre, television
channels, web developers, jewelry industries, the furniture industries, event management agencies,
Design consultancies, and R&D wings of various sectors, as well as any government or non-
government organizations. In addition to these, the students have the option of completing
independently funded research- or craft-based projects.

Director Prof. Dr. Pawan Godiawala mentioned that being a fresh batch of versatile performers,
graduating students shall fit in the more extensive bandwidth of the industry requirements with the
academic knowledge, industry exposure, team spirit, and professionalism NIFT has prepared them with. He said that with creative and seasoned minds as NIFT alumni, students should continue to
touch the lives of the more significant section of society by constantly innovating and answering the
evolving needs of the masses through their grounded and responsible approach for the greater purpose of nation-building. NIFT expects its alumnus to provide solutions to critical global issues for the overall development of society.
