NIF Global Borivali & South Mumbai celebrated creativity, innovation, and emerging design talent at its annual fest, Layer’M, bringing together students, industry experts, and design enthusiasts for a showcase of fashion and interior design excellence.
The event provided students from the Fashion Design and Interior Design departments with an opportunity to present their creative work before leading architects, designers, mentors, and industry professionals, reinforcing the institute’s commitment to industry-oriented education and experiential learning.
Recognised as one of Mumbai’s leading institutes for fashion and interior design education, NIF Global Borivali & South Mumbai continues to prepare industry-ready professionals through practical exposure and participation in prestigious platforms such as Lakmé Fashion Week, Bombay Times Fashion Week, and design competitions including IDAC.
The Interior Design Exhibition featured an impressive display of student-created furniture, 3D models, and academic design portfolios. The projects were evaluated by renowned architects and interior designers, giving students valuable professional feedback while exposing them to real-world design assessment and industry expectations.
A major highlight of the event was an interactive talk show with acclaimed interior designer Sarah Sham, who shared insights into design thinking, creativity, career development, and the realities of working in the interior design industry. Her session provided aspiring designers with practical guidance and inspiration for their future careers.
The evening concluded with a vibrant Fashion Design showcase, where graduating students unveiled nearly 110 original garments through an energetic runway presentation. The collections reflected contemporary aesthetics, craftsmanship, individuality, and experimental design, highlighting the creativity and evolving perspectives of the next generation of fashion designers.
The celebration concluded with a felicitation ceremony recognising distinguished guests, award-winning students, and graduating designers for their outstanding achievements and creative excellence.
