New Taipei City Teams Up with 20 Companies to Foster Business Opportunities with Leading Technologies
Mumbai/Delhi, JUNE 1, 2024 – Numerous globally recognised businesses are based in New Taipei City, which is referred to as the industrial capital of Taiwan with over 300,000 manufacturers and businesses and the birthplace of the ICT sector. The New Taipei City Government has increased its efforts this year by integrating 20 companies from various sectors such as ICT, electronics, mechanical manufacturing, and healthcare to participate in the Taiwan Expo in India, recognising India’s growing prominence as the world’s largest manufacturing hub. By taking a cooperative team strategy, New Taipei businesses are actively promoting industrial growth overseas by working together to investigate prospects for cross-border collaboration in the South Asian market.
Taiwan’s most well-known flagship marketing platform in India is called “Taiwan Expo in India”. This year, it has a wide variety of goods and tech uses with themes including “Smart Manufacturing,” “Wellness Fiesta,” “Smart City,” “Green Innovations,” and “Smart Lifestyle.” With over 700 Taiwanese companies and over 160,000 participants since its launch in 2018, the expo has secured business prospects with over 7,000 Indian buyers. The New Taipei City Government selected to participate in this expo because it offers the best platform for Taiwanese firms to promote themselves in India. This decision was made in order to further build the New Taipei City Pavilion and actively market the city’s presence.
The New Taipei City government’s Commissioner of Economic Development, Ms. Amy Ho, stated that the year 2024 will bring with it the global trend of artificial intelligence as well as the difficulty of reaching net-zero carbon emissions. In order to facilitate the integration of industry supply chains and encourage the development of the e-sports and electric vehicle sectors, New Taipei City introduced the “2Es” industrial policy this year. Additionally, the programme seeks to progressively expand net-zero and digital transformations across a range of industries. Compared to prior years, a higher number of companies registered for the overseas marketing delegation to India this year.
Twenty exceptional companies were chosen by the Economic Development Department to form the New Taipei City Trade Mission Delegation and exhibit in India. The department considered a number of criteria, including “domestic and international award records,” “foreign presence,” “export levels,” “completeness of data,” and “registration time.” These businesses will present the newest advancements in e-sports, mechanical production, and electric car technology while actively examining prospects for diversified industrial cooperation and bilateral development.
