Mumbai- Delhi, July 13: One of the biggest cities in Taiwan, New Taipei City is developing into a model smart city that can harmoniously support both industrial expansion and a high level of living that is sustainable and healthy.Dr. Tih-Ju Chu, Deputy Mayor of the Government of New Taipei City, stressed during his speech at Taiwan Expo India how important it is for industrial growth that New Taipei City has developed its infrastructure and maintained effective connectivity, as this has allowed the city to draw in numerous foreign enterprises.
They also have a very advantageous set of policies that allow them to expedite the approval process for three important requirements: the distribution of land, the provision of water, and the provision of electricity. With more than 3 lakh businesses, New Taipei City features several industrial clusters catering to small and large enterprises.
In addition to its industrial development, New Taipei City is aiming to improve the living standards of its residents. Improving people’s lifestyles is the goal of city governance and general development. In addition to improving people’s quality of life on a daily basis, infrastructure development places a high priority on security in municipal governance. As part of the city expansion strategy, the Deputy Mayor has played a significant role in promoting sustainable practices and green initiatives.
By offering incentives and discounts to enterprises involved in renewable energy, New Taipei City is also pushing businesses into sustainable practices. They support zero carbon initiatives, assist businesses in cutting emissions, and work to bring zero emission to the transportation sector. In addition to strongly supporting solar energy and enhancing public transportation, they are also considering recycling as a sustainable approach to help minimize the usage of private automobiles.
Speaking about New Taipei City Pavilion, Dr. Tih-Ju Chu Deputy Mayor, New Taipei City Government said, “This is our first time at Taiwan Expo in India and we are excited to meet potential businesses here. We have 20 companies from various sectors such as ICT, electronics, mechanical manufacturing, and healthcare showcasing their products and services in the Pavilion. We hope to strengthen our ties with the Indian companies so that we can mutually benefit through industrial cooperation.
