Levi Strauss & Co’s fitness brand, Beyond Yoga, has announced a leadership change with co-founder Michelle Wahler stepping down as CEO. Nancy Green, renowned for her success at Athleta and Old Navy, will become the new CEO starting February 1. Green’s expertise in brand building and sustainability is expected to fuel Beyond Yoga’s growth.
Under Green’s guidance, Athleta experienced significant revenue growth from $250 million to nearly $1 billion. Beyond Yoga, acquired by LS&Co. In 2021, contributed nearly $100 million to net revenue in FY22 and now has six stores. The transition in leadership is viewed as a natural step for the brand’s ongoing success.
In a separate development, Maison Margiela, the French fashion and fragrance brand, has made its debut in the Indian market. Partnering with Shoppers Stop and L’Oréal International Distribution, Maison Margiela opened its first store in Mumbai at Jio World Drive.
The store showcases Maison Margiela’s ‘Replica’ perfume line and beauty offerings, creating a unique and avant-garde fashion experience. The minimalist, modern look of the all-white store reflects the brand’s distinctive style. Maison Margiela, founded by designer Martin Margiela in 1988, has expanded from premium clothing to include jewelry, accessories, footwear, leather goods, and fragrances. L’Oréal International Distribution, a part of the L’Oréal Group, collaborates globally with distributors, bringing labels like Maison Margiela to diverse markets. The partnership marks Maison Margiela’s exciting entry into the Indian retail landscape.
